At Walking Straight Home for Boys, we provide a nurturing and supportive environment for young boys to thrive and grow. Our goal is to prepare them for a successful transition into society. At Walking Straight Home for Boys we serve residents with intellectual disabilities and we are known for our community based programming for residents with complex needs including autism, mental health diagnosis and other behavioral challenges. WSHB residents benefit from trauma-informed care based upon empirically validated behavior support practices  to promote independence and enhance quality of life for each individual served. These practices are based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and use the Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) framework to support academic, social, emotional, and behavioral competence of all residents. Other modalities may include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Expressive Therapies.
